Top 100 English Programmes in 2012 were all broadcast on TVB Pearl. We are glad to announce that this result has further strengthened TVB Pearl’s leading position by securing all Top 100 English Programmes for eight consecutive years since 2005, according to CSM Media Research.

Important figures generated from this year’s research:

-77 out of the Top 100 Programmes were Weekend Blockbuster movies.

-Top 10 programmes: Blockbuster movies drew an average of 92% to 99% shares of the English channels and the top viewership shares were from 94% to 100%. The Day the Earth Stood Still topped the chart while The Chronicles of Narnia Prince Caspian and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory ranked the second and third respectively.

-Documentaries: The most popular documentary on TVB Pearl in 2012 was Life on Fire, an earth shattering series offering a close up look at volcanoes, receiving an average share of 76% to 92%.

-Reality shows: America’s Got Talent (VI) received an average share of 77% to 96%.

-Variety shows: The variety show with outstanding audience performance in 2012 was Breaking the Magician’s Code Magic’s Biggest Secrets Finally Revealed Series. The average share ranges from 53% to 98%.
